Terms and Conditions of Sale

Last updated: 27 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to purchases and services supplied by CelloCoach, including digital products, printed books, bundles, online courses, private lessons, and CelloCoach Studio memberships purchased through CelloCoach.com, Stripe Checkout, Stripe Payment Links, or another checkout expressly operated on behalf of CelloCoach.

By placing an order or subscribing to a service, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions before payment.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

1. Seller

Jonathan Humphries / CelloCoach

CelloCoach operates from France. These Terms are therefore governed by French law, subject to any mandatory consumer protections applicable in the customer’s country of residence.

2. Products and services

CelloCoach supplies educational products and services including:

  • digital books, scores and educational materials;
  • printed books and physical educational materials;
  • combined physical and digital bundles;
  • online courses and video-based educational content;
  • individual online cello lessons;
  • CelloCoach Studio memberships and related personalised teaching services.

The product or service description displayed before checkout determines what is included in the customer’s purchase.

Digital Download

Electronic files only. No physical product is supplied unless specifically stated.

Physical Copy

A printed product supplied by post. A digital copy is included only where expressly stated on the relevant product page.

Bundle

A combination of products specifically identified on the product page.

Private Lesson

An individual teaching session booked for a defined date and time.

CelloCoach Studio

An ongoing private-teaching programme governed by the specific Studio conditions in Section 10 below.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in euros unless otherwise stated.

The price shown to the customer at checkout is the price payable for the selected product or service, including unavoidable payment-processing costs incorporated into CelloCoach pricing.

No separate surcharge is imposed solely because a customer uses an accepted payment method.

Where shipping charges apply, they are displayed before payment.

Payment may be made using the payment methods offered by the relevant checkout provider.

For subscription products, the customer expressly authorises recurring payments according to the billing frequency displayed before checkout.

The applicable billing frequency, amount and renewal period are displayed before the customer confirms the subscription.

4. Promotional codes and discounts

CelloCoach may issue promotional codes or special offers at its discretion.

A promotional code:

  • has no cash value;
  • may be restricted to particular products, services, customers or dates;
  • may be limited to one use;
  • may expire;
  • may be withdrawn where permitted by law if issued in error or used contrary to its stated conditions.

Promotional codes do not combine with other discounts unless expressly stated.

CelloCoach Studio currently offers commitment pricing on certain longer membership periods. Any such discount is incorporated into the price displayed at checkout.

A promotional code does not create an entitlement to the same discount on future purchases or renewals unless expressly stated.

5. Digital products

Digital purchases are normally made available after successful payment.

Digital products are licensed for the purchaser’s personal use only.

Unless expressly authorised, customers may not resell, redistribute, publicly upload, commercially reproduce, share access to, or otherwise distribute CelloCoach digital products.

Where digital content is supplied immediately and the law permits loss of the statutory withdrawal right following the customer’s express consent and acknowledgement, the relevant consent will be obtained before supply begins.

6. Printed books and shipping

Printed books may be produced and dispatched directly through a third-party print-on-demand fulfilment provider.

A customer may therefore receive an Amazon or other fulfilment-provider package even where the order was made through CelloCoach.com.

Shipping charges depend on destination and are displayed before payment where applicable.

The customer is responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and contact information.

For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes or other destination charges may apply. Unless otherwise stated, these are the responsibility of the recipient.

7. Withdrawal rights

Physical goods

Consumers generally have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for eligible distance purchases, subject to the exceptions and conditions provided by applicable law.

For eligible physical goods, the withdrawal period generally begins upon receipt of the goods.

Return shipping may be payable by the customer where permitted by law.

This does not affect the customer’s rights where an item is damaged, defective, incorrect or otherwise non-conforming.

Services, private lessons and CelloCoach Studio

For eligible service contracts concluded at a distance, the statutory withdrawal period is generally 14 days from conclusion of the contract.

If the customer wishes lessons or another paid service to begin before the end of this 14-day period, CelloCoach may request the customer’s express request for early performance.

If the customer subsequently exercises a valid right of withdrawal after performance has begun at their express request, the customer may be required to pay a proportionate amount corresponding to the services already supplied up to the date on which withdrawal is communicated.

Where a service has been fully performed within the withdrawal period following the legally required express request and acknowledgement, the right of withdrawal may cease in accordance with applicable law.

A customer wishing to exercise a statutory withdrawal right may contact:

jonathan@cellocoach.com

A model withdrawal form appears at the end of these Terms.

8. Damaged, incorrect or non-conforming orders

If a printed product arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, the customer should contact:

jonathan@cellocoach.com

The customer should provide the order details and, where useful, photographs showing the issue.

CelloCoach will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.

9. Legal guarantees

Customers benefit from the mandatory legal guarantees provided by applicable French and European consumer law, including where relevant the legal guarantee of conformity.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or replaces rights that cannot legally be waived.

10. CelloCoach Studio

10.1 Nature of the Studio membership

CelloCoach Studio is a structured private-teaching service.

A Studio membership reserves teaching capacity and provides the number of private 60-minute lessons specified by the selected plan.

The Studio is not a bank of lesson credits held indefinitely.

Lesson entitlements apply only to the relevant Studio teaching period and are governed by the scheduling rules below.

10.2 Studio plans

Four principal lesson formats are available.

Fixed 4

Four private 60-minute lessons per Studio Month at a recurring agreed lesson time.

Flex 4

Four private 60-minute lessons per Studio Month with flexible scheduling within the applicable booking windows.

Fixed 2

Two private 60-minute lessons per Studio Month at recurring agreed lesson times.

Flex 2

Two private 60-minute lessons per Studio Month with flexible scheduling within the applicable booking windows.

10.3 Studio Month

For Studio purposes, a Studio Month is the monthly teaching period beginning on the student’s membership start date and recurring from that date.

It does not necessarily correspond to the first through last day of a calendar month.

For example, where a Studio membership begins on 27 August, the first Studio Month begins on 27 August and the following Studio Month begins on the corresponding date in September.

This system prevents unused teaching time from accumulating indefinitely and keeps lesson allocation aligned with the student’s active membership.

10.4 Fixed plans

A Fixed membership reserves a recurring lesson time.

The lower Fixed-plan price reflects the predictability of this schedule and the reservation of a regular place in the CelloCoach teaching calendar.

Fixed plans do not include routine flexible rescheduling.

A request to change a Fixed lesson may be accepted by CelloCoach where reasonable and where another suitable appointment is available, but such changes are discretionary and do not create an ongoing entitlement to flexible scheduling.

Where a student cannot attend their reserved Fixed lesson and the lesson is not rescheduled by agreement, the lesson remains part of that Studio Month and does not roll forward indefinitely.

Where appropriate, CelloCoach may use the reserved teaching time to prepare a personalised recorded lesson or related teaching material for the student.

10.5 Flex 4

Flex 4 includes four private lessons during each Studio Month.

Each lesson is associated with an applicable weekly booking window.

The student may select an available appointment within that window.

Availability is limited to appointments offered through the CelloCoach booking system. Flexible scheduling does not guarantee that every requested day or time will be available.

A Flex lesson must be used within its applicable booking window unless CelloCoach expressly agrees otherwise.

Unused Flex 4 lessons do not accumulate and do not roll into the next Studio Month.

10.6 Flex 2

Flex 2 includes two private lessons during each Studio Month.

Each lesson is associated with an applicable two-week booking window.

The student may select an available appointment within that window.

Availability is limited to appointments offered through the CelloCoach booking system.

Unused Flex 2 lessons do not accumulate and do not roll into the following Studio Month.

10.7 Flex rescheduling

A Flex lesson may normally be rescheduled once, provided:

  • at least 24 hours’ notice is given;
  • the replacement appointment remains within the applicable booking window; and
  • a suitable CelloCoach appointment is available.

A rescheduled lesson cannot normally be rescheduled a second time.

If the student cannot attend the replacement appointment, the lesson is treated as used and may instead be fulfilled through a personalised recorded lesson or other lesson material prepared by CelloCoach.

Where CelloCoach itself is unable to offer a reasonable appointment within the applicable window, the student will not lose the lesson because of CelloCoach availability.

10.8 Late cancellations and missed lessons

A cancellation made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson, or failure to attend without notice, does not create an entitlement to a replacement live lesson.

The scheduled period was reserved for that student and is therefore treated as teaching time.

Where appropriate, CelloCoach may use that reserved time to prepare a personalised recorded lesson, demonstration, technical exercise, repertoire guidance or other teaching material relevant to the student’s current work.

This material forms part of the teaching service for that lesson period.

10.9 Cancellations by CelloCoach

If CelloCoach must cancel a scheduled lesson, the student will not lose that lesson entitlement.

The lesson will be rescheduled, carried forward, or otherwise supplied by mutual agreement.

A student will never lose teaching time solely because CelloCoach was unavailable to provide it.

10.10 Technical problems

Students are responsible for maintaining a suitable internet connection, camera, microphone, instrument and device for online lessons.

CelloCoach will make reasonable efforts to resolve connection or audio problems at the beginning of a lesson.

Technical difficulties originating from the student’s equipment or internet connection do not automatically entitle the student to a replacement lesson.

Where the technical failure originates from CelloCoach and materially prevents the lesson from taking place, the lesson will be rescheduled or otherwise restored to the student.

10.11 Lesson recordings

Online lessons may be recorded privately for the student’s personal educational use.

Students who do not wish their live lesson to be recorded should inform CelloCoach before recording begins.

A decision not to record the live lesson does not affect the student’s eligibility to receive other teaching materials.

Recorded lessons and teaching recordings supplied by CelloCoach are for the student’s personal educational use only and may not be publicly uploaded, redistributed, sold or commercially exploited without permission.

10.12 Unused lessons

Studio membership reserves teaching capacity for a defined period.

Unused lessons therefore expire at the end of the applicable Studio Month or booking window unless these Terms expressly provide otherwise or CelloCoach agrees to an exception.

Unused lessons cannot be:

  • accumulated indefinitely;
  • transferred to another person;
  • converted into cash;
  • carried into later Studio Months as a matter of right.

This rule does not apply where the lesson could not be supplied because of CelloCoach.

11. CelloCoach Studio billing periods

Studio memberships are offered with different recurring commitment periods.

Quarterly

The customer is billed for the selected Studio plan every 3 months.

No commitment discount applies unless expressly stated.

Six Months

The customer is billed for the selected Studio plan every 6 months.

The advertised six-month price currently incorporates the applicable commitment discount shown before checkout.

Annual

The customer is billed for the selected Studio plan every 12 months.

The advertised annual price currently incorporates the applicable commitment discount shown before checkout.

The exact amount charged is always the amount displayed and accepted at checkout.

12. Automatic renewal and non-renewal

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Studio subscriptions renew automatically at the end of the selected billing period:

  • every 3 months for Quarterly;
  • every 6 months for Six-Month memberships;
  • every 12 months for Annual memberships.

Renewal is charged to the payment method associated with the subscription.

Where required by French consumer law, CelloCoach will provide the customer with a dedicated written or electronic reminder of the possibility of refusing automatic renewal within the legally required period before renewal.

Cancellation or non-renewal prevents the next renewal.

It does not retroactively cancel or refund an active period that has already been purchased, except where a statutory consumer right applies.

Online cancellation

Where required by applicable law, customers may notify cancellation or non-renewal through the online cancellation function made available by CelloCoach.

Cancellation link: [INSERT CELLOCOACH ONLINE CANCELLATION URL BEFORE PUBLICATION]

CelloCoach will confirm receipt of an electronic cancellation request and indicate the effective end date of the contract.

13. Failed subscription payments

If a recurring payment fails, CelloCoach or its payment provider may make further payment attempts or ask the customer to update their payment method.

Teaching may be suspended where an amount due remains unpaid.

Suspension does not waive amounts validly due under the contract.

No new Studio teaching period is guaranteed until the applicable subscription payment has been successfully processed.

14. Private lessons outside CelloCoach Studio

A standalone private lesson purchased outside a Studio membership is provided at the date and time agreed during booking.

Unless different conditions are clearly displayed before booking, cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before the lesson.

Late cancellations and missed appointments are non-refundable, subject to mandatory legal rights.

15. Courses and educational materials

Course materials, videos, PDFs, lesson resources and other educational content are supplied for the purchaser’s personal educational use.

Access conditions, duration and technical requirements may vary by product and are shown on the relevant product or course page.

Customers may not redistribute, resell or publicly share protected course materials without permission.

16. Intellectual property

CelloCoach books, scores, videos, recordings, graphics, teaching materials, course content, exercises, methods, visual systems and downloadable products remain protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.

Purchasing a product or service gives the customer the right to use the supplied material personally according to these Terms.

It does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property.

17. Personal data and privacy

Customer information is processed as necessary to:

  • process payments;
  • fulfil orders;
  • administer subscriptions;
  • schedule and provide lessons;
  • supply purchased materials;
  • communicate about the customer’s service;
  • comply with accounting, tax and legal obligations.

Payment data may be processed by third-party payment providers including Stripe.

Order fulfilment may involve relevant fulfilment providers.

Personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection law and CelloCoach’s Privacy Policy.

18. Complaints

For any problem relating to an order, subscription or service, customers should first contact:

jonathan@cellocoach.com

CelloCoach will make reasonable efforts to resolve the matter directly.

19. Consumer mediation

Where a consumer dispute cannot be resolved directly following a prior written complaint, the consumer may have the right to refer the dispute free of charge to the consumer mediator designated by CelloCoach.

Intended Mediator: CM2C – Centre de la Médiation de la Consommation des Conciliateurs de Justice
Address: 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris
Website: cm2c.net

CelloCoach is in the process of completing its formal mediation registration. This section will be updated once the designation is finalised.

20. Applicable law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by French law.

Where the customer is a consumer residing outside France, mandatory consumer protections applicable in that customer’s country of residence remain unaffected where they cannot legally be excluded.

If one provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

21. Automatic renewal

Where a CelloCoach Studio subscription is concluded for a fixed period and renews automatically, the applicable provisions of the French Consumer Code concerning automatic renewal apply.

Before an automatic renewal, CelloCoach will provide the customer with a clear written or electronic reminder of the possibility of refusing renewal. Where Article L.215-1 of the French Consumer Code applies, this reminder will be sent within the legally required period and will clearly state the deadline for refusing renewal.

If the legally required renewal reminder is not provided, the customer may have the right to terminate the renewed contract free of charge from the date of renewal, in accordance with applicable law. Any reimbursement legally due following such termination will be made within the period required by law.

These rules also apply, where relevant, to contracts concluded between professionals and non-professionals.

CelloCoach also provides an online cancellation function for subscriptions concluded electronically, allowing customers to request cancellation or non-renewal through the Stripe Customer Portal or another online cancellation method made available by CelloCoach.

The customer’s statutory rights under Articles L.215-1 to L.215-3 and L.241-3 of the French Consumer Code remain unaffected.
